Love Story Questionnaire

This questionnaire is part of Mrs. to Mama's Valentine's Link-Up. For more about our love story you can click the "Our Story" in the navigation bar. The story is in progress, but stick around for a sneak peak as I answer some questions.

       How long have you and your significant other been together?
We’re coming up on eight years of dating. Our anniversary is in March.
     How did you meet? {What's your "love" story?}
Read our blind date story here.  I’m still recapping our entire love story so stay tuned.
 If married, how long have you been married? If not, is this the guy you hope to marry? {do tell}
We are married! We were married on our five year anniversary. In March we will also celebrate our 3 year wedding anniversary.
  If you are married, where did you get married at? Big or small wedding?
It was a small wedding by a lot of people’s standards, but pretty big to me! We were married in his parents backyard. :)
Do you have any nick-names that you call one another? Do share!
We have nicknames, but they’re top secret! Hint* They revolve around our real names.
 Name 3 things you love most about your honey.
I love way more than three things, but my top three are:
*The kind of man he is. He is a hard worker, patient, kind, respectful, nice, and an amazing father and loving husband. He is a family man to the core. The kind of man I always wanted to marry.

*The way he makes me be a better a version of myself. I love the effect he has on me.

*How he makes me laugh all. the. time. He’s hilarious, well at least I think so.  Oh, and he is an amazing cook. Love that.
Tell us how he proposed? Or your ideal proposal?
I’ll get to that in our love story series, but here is a teaser pic.
Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberries, champagne, and rose petals?
Over the years, I’ve had it all. He is an everything guy. Since he has gotten to know me better he knows I don't need the champagne (not a fan) or rose petals. But they were nice the years I got them!
 Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop a movie in and relax on the couch?
For Valentine’s Day, I love dinner at a nice restaurant with a sunset over the water.
 Tell us one thing you'd like to do with your significant one day. If you could do anything? Go anywhere?
I plan to do everything with him for the rest of our lives. From raising our son and future children together to traveling the world.
  Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine's Day.
Over the past few years we’ve preferred to stay in for VDay. Remember, when I said my husband is an amazing cook? He really his and his meals rival any super expensive, nice restaurant.
  Are you asking for anything this Valentine's day?
Nope, I never ask for anything. Just enjoy being together.
 Give us one piece of advice of keeping a relationship strong and full of love.
Keep having fun with one another. Don’t be afraid to try new things together. I don’t have the key ingredient its a mixture of so many things.  We just know that whatever life sends us we can get through it together.
Show us a picture of what love means to you.
Hockey Husband drew our intials in the sand during a trip to Hawaii.

Being a family.

A Valentine's Craft

Valentine’s Day Challenge

In honor of the upcoming holiday and because it's totally fun to get crafty Litte C and I broke out the paint! We headed outside {because hello paint and a toddler is messy} and got to work.

 I saw this cute little hand print and foot print craft floating around pinterest and thought it would be fun to re-create.

After I dipped Little C's feet and hands in the paint. I let him go to town with the paint brush and his canvas. The cement took some paint too as well as Little C's feet but for the most part stayed on the paper. It now hangs on our fridge.

I hope to do some more crafts this weekend before St. Vaelntine's Day makes its debut.

I'm linking up my craft as part of the Fabulous Valentine's Blogging Challenge, and some stunning crafter blogs! Looking for a cute craft click on any of the buttons below.

The finished project!

A Blogger Meet-Up

*have you heard? I'm having a giveaway.*
On Saturday, I had the opportunity to attend the So Cal Blogger Meet-up and I am so glad I did! It was held in the breath-taking La Jolla area of San Diego.

Hosted by TammyStephanie , Kelsey, OliviaKai & Holli. These wonderful woman put together a huge event for 60 bloggers!
The event was held at Roppongi Restaurant. Beautiful.

There were lots of raffle prizes, delicious appetizers, and lots of fabulous bloggers! I was so thrilled to be there and slighty nervous.
 I went with these two beautiful women.
We got to meet one of the hostesses, Kelsey, and get excited about another upcoming meet-up in the future!
There were tons of sponsors who contributed to the event! Thus, we all got goodie bags filled with some amazing frees stuff and discount codes!

And, there were raffle prizes for everyone! I won twice and scored myself a new pair of shoes from Blowfish Malibu.
I just know I'll end up getting more than one pair since there are so many cute designs to choose from!

I also won this beauty from Bohemian Honey Boutique!

I had the absolute most fun time getting to meet fellow bloggers. On more than one occasion I found myself in the middle of conversation going, oh yeah I know that it was on your about me page!

Or, I totally know what you had to eat last night. So, yeah that was awkward and strange for me. I felt like a complete stallker, but at the same time it was so fun to meet the faces behind the blogs I love.

If you're in the Orange County area and want to meet up, just send me a message. I would love to get lunch or something!

Saturday Snapshot

An evening at the park

Little C Happenings: 19 months

I was just thinking about my 18 month old when it occurred to me that he would be 19 months tomorrow.
{this happened last night, obviously}

A lot has happened in Little C's world this past month. His vocabulary is exploding.
I am so sorry, because I realize I haven't even done his first words/vocabulary post yet! eeks.

Just yesterday he said his friend's name, baby, sky, moon, no, and something else I can't recall!
But, as you can see he really is saying a lot of new words.

This month we went to Disneyland, woo!

We went for a hike.

Played with lots of friends.

Worked on some paintings and a Valentine's craft.

We've been going to the park every afternoon lately.

Little C likes to play basketball with the neighbors. I have a video of this!

Happy 9 months Little C!

{My apologies for the lack of awesome C pictures- they were downloading really slow!}

first date continued

This a continuation of our first date story. Catch up here. I started this as part of the Valentine's Challenge on the best date ever.
Today I continue with the beginning of our story and throw in some teaser pics from our wedding.

Hockey Husband {who back then was just Tall Economics Guy} and I had just met at the library we started talking and he asked me out for some coffee.
This was back in “Friends don’t let Friends drink at Starbucks” days*.
You see, there was this cute, historic, cultural train station that was turned into a coffee shop and I loved it. They play foreign films, had comfy-mismatching furniture everywhere, musty hardcover books on shelves and the crème de la crème: Chess boards.

We arrived at the quaint coffee depot and I was already smitten with the charm and chivalry this guy was showing. His shyness was cute and his wit was addictive.
I had this weird feeling. I had only met this twenty-year-old Tall Economics Guy an hour ago but everything just flowed and felt right.

We sat down at a corner table with our coffees in hand, well just me turned out TEG doesn't drink coffee*.  We played a round of chess and sat there and talked for hours. Later, he dropped me off at my apartment minutes from campus and we didn't plan to see one another until Monday since TEG was going home for the weekend to work. (about an hour away).

Until… a few minutes later he called. I had my phone in hand with the same thought in mind. We decided we weren’t ready for the night to be over. He picked me back up at my apartment and we went on a late night dinner.  {See, a double date}
We drove around and at 10 pm on a Thursday after going to two restaurants that were closed we found a Chili’s that was open.
We sat, we talked, we ordered, we talked some more and I think we both knew it then- we had stumbled on to something special.

*One day I gave into “Corporate America” and for while I nursed a pretty expensive addiction to Starbucks.
*You see I was president of the chess club in high school. Or so said the April Fool’s edition of our school newspaper one year.  Either way I liked the game.
*That has since changed you know, growing up and everything.

It’s not over yet. There’s a whole story of how we get to our wedding day.
Lots more dates.
Graduations.
A move and even a break up.
